Now that we're a full week past Christmas, I think it's safe to declare this the best one ever. Who knew there was an upside to a layoff? The last six weeks since Ben's lost his job have been surreal, and at times, a bit scary. But the overwhelming feeling has been one of peace and calm which has put this season more in perspective. The Lord has found small ways to let us know each day that he knows us and loves us through the kind acts of others. Family, friends and strangers have showered us with love and support and we have been sustained by their charity throughout the holidays. It's sobering for us to realize that we will never be able to repay those who have blessed our family, only pay their kindness forward. Where much is given (and much was given), much is required of our family in service to those around us.To all of those who helped make our Christmas merry in the midst of our trials ... our most profound and heartfelt thanks. God bless all of you.

Reninds me of one of my favorite lines from one of my favorite movies - "Apollo 13" - when Gene Kranz at the Houston command station tells his team "Gentlemen, I believe this will be our finest hour." Nothing like a little adversity to bring out the best in all of us. So proud of your great spirit weathering this economic storm.

Sneak; keep up the post and info on the family. I did not know about Ben and his job. You are now added to my specific prayer list. I'm so glad you had a great christmas. The kids looked very happy. How are things going with the job hunt now?
Love you,
