As requested, may I present the third annual Walmart Walk of Shame family Christmas photo. In typical form, I didn't get around to dragging the kids down until Monday night only to find that the lovely Christmas trees had been moved off the floor and up onto the high shelves. So we huddled the kids in front of the unopened Christmas boxes below the trees and snapped away.
I tell ya ... nothing but the best for all y'all.
We took the pictures first thing and then wandered about aimlessly while we waited for the prints to process .... only to come back an hour later to be told that due to high volume, our pictures wouldn't be ready until Tuesday. Nice. So glad we spent that extra hour waiting with hungry, tired, grouchy, present-obsessed kids. So back to the store we went Tuesday to find out that OOPS, they didn't print our names on the cards due to a glitch and OOPS, they were out of envelopes so we got regular, ugly, cheap, security envelopes from off the shelf and SORRY, no discount. Then at the post office I heard SORRY, we're out of Christmas stamps. Fine. Nothing says the holidays like Homer Simpson stamps. I was so irritated on my way home until I realized that I was being ridiculous. If I had actually tried to have nice pictures like the many wonderful ones that friends and family had sent, that would be one thing. But I didn't. And I waited until the last possible second. This photo shoot required NO thought, NO planning and NO trying, so late, ugly cards is actually perfect. So there. And given that it's 4:15 on Christmas eve, who knows if I'll even get them in the mail.
Anyway, we hope each of you and your wonderful, well dressed, beautifully photographed families have a Merry Christmas! We just try our best each year to make all of you look better.

We are all laughing SO HARD right now! You are so witty! Your efforts to make the rest of us look so much better is much appreciated! Although, I think our family doesn't benefit from it at all, since our family isn't on the ball enough to 1. take a family photo 2. have them printed and 3. mail Christmas cards EVER! I'm thinking that Valentines cards are looking good this year... if I can manage to get a picture taken by then! I'll take this moment to wish you all a very happy Christmahanzakwanzika, Happy New Year, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Valentines, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Presidents Day, and many many Birthday wishes (along with whatever holidays I may have missed).
