It’s HE-RE!

We’ll sort of.

But in my book anyway:

FALL IS HERE!

My absolute favorite season, and the one time of year my overly red house goes from garish to trendy.

And just because Hubs will give me crap about it not really being fall when it’s still over 70 in Utah, I present the following evidence to support my claim:

1.  Labor Day is over.  Period.

2.  All of our kids are back in school.

And even the districts that start late will all be in session by mid week. 

 

3.  The annual SaharaCares Fall Autism Carnival is this weekend. 

Can. not. wait for this to get here.  We always have so much fun with other families like ours and love the amazing people at Sahara Construction for sponsoring this every year.

4.  College football is back, baby! 

Wahooo!  Oh I am positively giddy about this one.  And this inaugural week couldn’t have started better with our two favorite teams winning in huge you’re-so-overrated-and-will-get-creamed matchups. 

Overrated?  I think not.

Sending much love to the Utes (we bleed red, too!) and to #3 Boise State (Smurf Turf forever. The bid for the national title is on.)

Of all the things I love about college football like crisp fall days and tailgating, my favorite is that I get to spend time with this guy.

This is our thing that we love and live for together.  We love our TDHD to our cores.  We adore our incredible extended family.  But college football is something for just the two of us to connect as a couple and enjoy.  Last night we sat in our room, folding clothes and listening to the webcast of the Boise State game.  As Boise drove down the field on the last possession to come from behind, we laughed and cheered and hi-fived and talked very authoritatively about the flawed BSC system and the areas Boise and Utah needed to improve on for next week.

And as I listened to Hubs break down Virginia Techs horrible special teams performance, I was reminded once again just how much I love spending time with this guy and how much sharing this passion with him brings us closer.  As TDHD get older, we’ll share this love with them and it will be a source of some incredible fun for our whole family. But after they grow up and move out, this love will still be there for me and Hubs.  Looking forward to that makes me smile.

I can’t get enough of this stuff and have been happily blog hopping to all of the fall link parties.  I have some big, big ideas to slather the house with this stuff.

I’m also looking forward to some other fall traditions like baking up a storm and taking the kids down to Black Island Farms for some serious agri-tainment.

You heard me.  Argi-tainment.

And by way of explanation courtesy of the fine folks at Black Island Farms, agri-tainment is apparently the fusion of agriculture and entertainment.  Think corn mazes, potato cannons, tractor rides, pumpkin picking, giant hay slides, petting zoos and bounce houses all rolled into one.
